Internet of Things

Rapidly transforming industries and our daily lives, offering a wide range of benefits such as increased efficiency, reduced costs, enhanced decision-making, deforestation prevention with cost-effective satellite data and precision agriculture.

Monitoring land cover as a part Internet of Things
BUMATerra provide frequent landcover monitoring as an early warning tool to prevent continuous deforestation as well as to monitor the natural regeneration in certain areas.
  1. Monitoring land cover
  2. Tracking land conversion during plantation development
  3. Implementing Scope 3 monitoring systems
  4. Monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) of the Conservation Project
Monitoring land cover in Rawa Singkil between 2015 and 2024, land degradation has occurred within the peat swamp forest ecosystem, particularly in the northern part of Rawa Singkil. This degradation is primarily due to land conversion from forest to areas designated for other commodities. A strong commitment is urgently needed to protect these critical peatland areas, to avoid deforestation, and to recover the ecosystem. Continuous and real-time land cover monitoring is necessary as a measure to keep track of the current condition of the ecosystem.
